2015-7-7 Bringing Home the Bus

These are the first pictures of my bus from the day I brought it home.

Above is the first picture I ever took of the bus.  Immediately after purchasing it, I drove it down to the tire place to install the new tires.  Notice how white the roof looks compared to the hood.  It used to be the same yellow, but the paint had oxidized.  My girlfriend said the colors made it look like Sherbet.

This was the part I dreaded the most, leading up to purchasing the bus.  We had set aside space in the back yard and built a driveway.  I knew it would fit.  What I didn’t know is if I could maneuver it into place.

It took a few tries to get it into the back yard.  That poor ash tree took a few hits.

A few trees were cut down in order to build the driveway for the bus.  I really wanted to save at least one.  The ash tree was the only one that would clear the construction, so I fought to keep it.  I’m glad it’s still there.

Hard part’s over.  Now I can inspect what I’ve got.

It hasn’t yet sunk in that this project is real.

My band-mate shows up for practice and is surprised to see what’s sitting in the back yard.
